This is so well written, I really admire the way that you are able to combine an action fic with meaningful slash. This fic was the first Y/A i ever read and really made me move my ass and start writing my own stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Author's Response: Thanks! There's not enough Yassen Angst in this fandom ... but Yassen is human too! Actually .... I've just torn to shreds in the final chapter of this arc, mwahahaha, like he didn't already have enough guilt to live with!

Needless to say, I really liked this. The preoccupation with pain suits both Yassen and Alex down to the ground and as usual you have done a fantastic job of writing it up.

Another wonderful installment in this series. One of the things I particularly like about these fics is the well illustrated link between the physical reality and the emotional response it brings out in Alex. Very well written.

Wow ok. Lots of interesting stuff in this chapter. I really like how you have taken the canon and manipulated it to serve your story. It is a rare to find someone who can recognise the gaps in the original material and use them to their advantage but you've certainly managed it.

One of the things that I really like about you're writing is the way that it flows. You convey Alex's thought process without it being boring or repetative. Well Done :)

Also I personally have never seen Alex as a drinker, probably because AHoz writes him as such a straight arrow in the books (e.g when the bad guys are drinking wine, Alex is having Pepsi [TANGENT: Don't you think that perhaps there is a subliminal message there that only bad people drink alcohol? The only other person who is even briefly mentioned as being a drinker is Ian]) That said I found that how you worked that into you're story it seemed natural for Alex's character development. It gives the reader that evidence that he's growing up a bit and is starting to make these little decisions for himself, which reflect the larger over-all change in his personality of taking responsibility and claiming his independance. By letting him make the little choices it's a subtle way of showing that shift. In short, very clever on your part. I like it. :) (Hope that it what you were aiming for and I haven't just read into it way too much in an attempt to sound intelligent XD.

That made me laugh ;)! but yes, in principle I was trying to capture Alex's teenagerishness and all the issues and complexities that come with it. I'm really glad you enjoyed the chapter. It was one of the hardest to write, and despite the action, it actually represents the calm before the storm! New chapter now posted <3.

Another triumph :) Very nice, an easy read that suits both the characters. I have a really hard time writing Tom but he comes across so convincing when you do it. You make difficult subject matter and character voices look so easy and that is a real talent :)

Also your writing style is getting classier with each story. In short. I love it.

I love it. as I chose the style as a nod to my old Harry Potter fic rather than as an experimental dip (and in the hope that some of my old readers/fans would take to my new fandom - but not much luck with this still! It's nice to know it reads comfortably and smoothly.

It has been a while for me but it was great to see your new stuff and WOW! Short and sweet but very well done, with just that tiny edge of a threat in it. That was gorgeous, thanks for sharing :)
