This story is extreamly insitful and put's things so clearly in perspective:

"To Gregorovich, it would actually make a difference if Alex lived or die."

"To MI6, his death would merely be an inconvenience …"

Those two senteces sum up Alex's situation neatly, albeit in a harsh light. (the two chapters above the quote was also note worthy.)

Personally I've always sort of thought Yassen was Alex's 'Get Free of Jail card' but he never really realised it, it's nice to see him wiggle his blindfold abit.

Anyway, the story was brilliant and I loved the twist at the end it was a brilliant cliffhanger. However it you ever want to write a sequel I'm all on board, waiting to see how Alex plans to free himself from his bonds. Just as soon as he figues which ones will set him free of cause! ;)

Author's Response: Just realised I never said thanks for your lovely comments. It means a lot to me that people are still reading this story, as it was first posted in 2005 :-)

Ok, I'll admit i was expecting more than that, but honestly, a little glad at this ending. I don't like the idea of Alex betraying Yassen, but the fic seem to slant more towards MI6. I like that he's keeping his options open, I love double agent Alex.

Can't believe I found this story again - and it's complete?! Awesome! I was so disappointed when I read most of it and it hadn't been updated in so long - I'm looking forward to reading it again!

Loved the line "Trigonometry, Alex decided, was probably not going to play a significant part in his life."

I'm going to go read the rest now, look for more reviews soon!
